CANAL MEDITERRANEE

The Canal to the Mediterranean route (Canal Méditerranée) is a getaway into unspoiled nature along the Mediterranean coast. Between the sea and the main lagoons - the "étangs" - is a lagoon network, rich in wildlife and carefully conserved, that has been given the status of a Regional Natural Park. The route also includes a short journey into the Minervois plain, which gives you a unique opportunity to explore this AOP wine growing area, its little wine growers’ villages and many wine cellars and estates. It’s a different way of reaching the Mediterranean, a world apart from the seaside resorts that lie so close to the route.
