Sunbathing on the beach
What could be better than a walk with your dog in the water?
- At Narbonne-Plage, no pets on beaches from 01/05 to 30/09. However, a 150-metre space is made available to dogs between the beaches of Languedoc and Créneau Naturel, provided they are kept on a leash!
- In Port-La Nouvelle, only on the Vieille Nouvelle beach, on a leash, from 01/08 to 31/03 (i.e. outside the nesting period)
- In Saint-Pierre-la-Mer, accepted from 01/10 to 30/04 on a leash on the large seafront beach.
- At La Palme, allowed all year round in the marked out area of the Rouet beach, except from 15/06 to 15/09!
Keeping it clean in Port-La Nouvelle
Going out in Port-La Nouvelle with your four-legged friend? The city provides dog poop bags ("sacs Toutounet") for a peaceful stroll.
For this, contact the municipal technical services (+33 4 68 40 30 54) or the Tourist Office!
A stroll along the canals
A beautiful sunny day is the ideal occasion for a walk along the canals:
- The Canal du Midi: a classic destination, and the opportunity to walk along the paths and visit le Somail.
- The Canal de la Robine: whether in Narbonne itself or along the tow-path leading l'île de Sainte-Lucie (dogs are not allowed on the island), you're in for a fantastic walk!
- Le Canal de Jonction: the best place to admire the parasol pines that border the canal towards the village of Sallèles.
My clean doggie in Sigean and in La Palme
Going out in Sigean or in La Palme with your four-legged friend? The city provides dog poop bags ("sacs Toutounet") for a peaceful stroll.

Visit the African Reserve of Sigean
Ready for a safari with your dog? No problem! The Réserve Africaine de Sigean accepts our four-legged friends (on a short leash though), who will – like you – no doubt enjoy observing the magnificent animals of the Savannah.
The programme includes a one-hour drive among zebras, giraffes, lions, etc. and a two- to three-hour walk along the the park’s walking route.
Dog kayaking!
Fancy kayaking with your beloved pal?
- Le Pôle Nautique, at la Nautique,accepts dogs for kayak rentals. It's the ideal way – for both of you – to go for a quick ride in the lagoons and admire the landscape!
- In Port Mahon, it is possible to kayak or paddle with your dog. Please note that it is forbidden to disembark on the islands as they are natural, sensitive and protected areas!
