Welcome to the sunny South of France, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Here, you will enjoy walking on the fine sand dried by the winds, then turning around and taking in the panoramic views towards the protected massifs of Les Corbières and La Clape. Breathe in deeply: the scents of thyme and rosemary mingle with the sea air, and it feels great!
A holiday air
Seashores, sunshine, castles in the sand... if this is what you dream of for your holiday, you've come to the right place!
Swimmers will enjoy the supervised beaches where the Blue Flag (French label that guarantees bathing water quality) is proudly hoisted. You may also be surprised to discover some beautiful, wild beaches set between lagoons and sandbars, and a gentle way of life with the region's fishing and its sailboats.
Vast fine sandy beaches
The fine sandy beaches of the Côte du Midi will take your breath away with their very diverse landscapes: Saint-Pierre-la-Mer and Narbonne-Plage with the nearby preserved massif of La Clape, and in and around Port-la-Nouvelle, La Palme and Leucate you will see Les Corbières, a wild massif, with vineyards, in the background. A sure winner here are the wide beaches where you can comfortably set your towel down, play some beach games or even fly a kite!
Which seaside resort is best for my holiday?
Make your choiceConnected to the surrounding nature, all our seaside resorts are human-sized, with a friendly atmosphere and a local market... Having said that, each has a little something of its own:
- Port-La Nouvelle with its lighthouse, its friendly harbour atmosphere and the Sainte Lucie nature reserve.
- Narbonne-Plage and its waterfront with plenty of facilities for children, including a large space for rollerblading, biking and anything else on wheels.
- Saint-Pierre-la-mer and its walks in the massif de la Clape or towards the mouth of the Aude, with its immense beach.
Windblown activities
Those in search of an adrenaline rush will find all sorts of wind-blown activities (kiteboarding, sand yachting...) or simply sport (running, cycling). With nearly 200 days of wind per year, the Côte du Midi is definitely a paradise for nautical activities, from boards to boats, for beginners or experts. Accompanied by a pro from one of our nautical bases, why not offer yourself that windsurfing lesson you've been promising yourself, enjoy a ride on a catamaran with your children, or let the wind blow your sand yacht along the sand?!
Harbours and boating
For holidays by the sea, the marina is often a great place for a stroll at the end of the day, and maybe an ice cream to go...
All the ports on the Côte du Midi have obtained France's "Blue Flag" label, attesting to their environmentally sound management.
Outings at sea
Start your Mediterranean odyssey with a sea cruise for a few hours, either aboard a catamaran or a sailing boat.
Discover the magnificent coastline from out at sea, watch for dolphins, or treat yourself to a moment of indulgence with glass of white wine and some Leucate oysters as the sun goes down.
A preserved coastline
to be protectedThe sandy beaches on the Côte du Midi stretch for more than 50 km, interspersed with inlets towards lagoons, ponds and the limestone cliff of Leucate. This space is teeming with life: the vegetation that clings to the small dunes (such as saltwort) allows other little inhabitants to settle there: insects, spiders, sand lizards, toads... And above all, many birds have chosen this small corner of paradise for their nests: terns, ring-necked plovers and the occasional avocette. Shh, do not disturb!
The entire coastline is protected by the Narbonne Regional Natural Park.
