To complete your electric boat ride through the domaine Sainte Marthe, come and see a delightful little farm with chickens, goats, ducks, pigs, donkeys and more!
History of the Côte du Midi
There are several sites for children who may be curious about Roman history; this is great way to gain some insights into the Roman Empire!
In Narbonne, the Horreum is one of the city's only visible Roman monuments! Discover a maze of underground galleries... Back in Roman times, they were used as warehouses to store goods for the market, held directly above. On the place de l'Hôtel de Ville, discover the Via Domitia road which once linked Italy to Spain. You too can walk on this portion of the road that the Romans used to take. You will even see the traces of their carts... A stone's throw from there, the Narbo Via museum lets you discover the riches of the ancient city of Narbo Martius. There are more than 1,300 objects to admire! Also available are activities and workshops for young children.
A few kilometres from the centre of Narbonne lies the Amphoralis, an ancient amphora production workshop! The site's museum overlooks the excavation of a Roman pottery where you can discover the daily life and activity of these potters!
Delicacies and specialities
Are your children eager to taste some Côte du Midi culinary specialities?
Why not visit the L’Oulibo olive oil mill to discover our region's very own "green diamond", the Lucques olive! You can even challenge yourself and your family in a tapenade workshop!
After something savoury, time for something sweet, at the Cathar Chocolate Makers! Craft production of pure cocoa butter chocolate, "goutteline" chocolates, caramels, lollipops, boiled sweets, "nougatines" and various cookies. Workshops are often organised, offering a great way for you and your family to enjoy all these confections.
Narbonne's Giant Public Bench
If you make your way to the Jardin des Archevêques park in Narbonne, you will see giant public bench!
Initially a work of contemporary art by Lilian Bourgeat, this big bench has become an attraction for young and old alike. It's a bit like being a Minimoy for a few moments!
The bench also provides a great photo opportunity (straight out of a movie) that will leave you with a unique souvenir of your visit to Narbonne.
